Hyderabad 22nd Sept. All India Meeting of Kalyan Ashram workers was concluded at Rashtreeya Vidhya Kendra, Annojiguda Village, Hyderabd yesterday. 463 delegates from across the country attended this three day event.

It was decided to take a special derive to make the Gram Sabhas effective under the PESA Act which still are nominal. In another decision, Kalyan Ashram will programme to get the Community Forest Rights (CFR) recognized under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. Individual Pattas have been granted to tribals for the forest land in their possession upto some extent. But progress in CFR is just 10% across the country.

Earlier Kendriya Karyakari Mandal of the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram in its meeting dated 18th Sept resolved to caution the Central and state governments against amending the Land Acquisition Act 2013 which may adversely affect interest of the tribals. Such amendments under the consideration of the Union Government, as per the media reports are doing away with retrospective effect clause, diluting the Rehabilitation and Land for Land provisions etc. under pressure of the Corporate houses and Industries.

In another Resolution, the KKM demanded the Union Govt to make the Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) for the Minorities rational so that dual benefits to the converted tribals is negated.
